 When Sony introduced TR4085, they set the standard for thermal transfer wax technology. Now, they’ve raised the bar with TR4085plus™. Featuring their SmoothCoat™ backcoat, TR4085plus provides unparalleled printhead protection, while delivering the darkest, most durable images. In addition, TR4085plus prints on a wide range of substrates at temperatures consistent with those used for TR4085.

 Specialty Resin
 Sony’s opaque White resin, TR3370, offers superior smudge and scratch resistance as well as durability. It was specifically formulated for PVC shrink-wrapping and is highly resistant to Ethanol and Isopropanol.

 The fastest growing resin product on the market, TR4070 is a premium ribbon that carries widespread agency approvals. It can also withstand an unprecedented 14 years of UV exposure (confirmed by accelerated UV tests).

 TR4075’s specially designed topcoat enables it to produce scratch-resistant images on preprinted or treated label surfaces. TR04745 complements TR4070 in providing excellent images on a wide range of high-end synthetic labels.

 Sony’s specialty resin ribbon uses cross-linking technology to provide unparalleled resistance to harsh chemicals and solvents. TR5070 is formulated to meet the requirements of demanding applications like automotive underhood and clinical laboratory labeling.

 Premium Wax/Resin
 TR4065 is the fastest growing ribbon for the outdoor tag market. It prints at energy levels equal to or less than wax ribbons. TR4065 also provides durability comparable to resin ribbons on many low-end synthetics. Excellent on smooth label stocks, especially high-gloss paper and polyethylene.

 TR5080 was specifically developed to cover the widest possible range of applications. It performs well on the various inks used on spot-coated and flood-coated labels, eliminating the tendency of the label to slip during the printing process. TR5080 eliminates the need for the use of thermal transfer varnishes on Flood Coated labels, thereby reducing the total label cost. TR5080 prints up to 12 inches per second with complete image integrity.

 TR4500 is the best ribbon on the market for the new generation of thermal transfer printers equipped with near edge or corner edge printheads. TR4500’s backcoating reduces static and prolongs printhead life.

 TR4570 resin is the newest member of the SharpEdge™ family of ribbons, compatible with near edge or corner edge printheads. TR4570 joins Sony’s TR4500 wax/resin ribbon to provide the best near edge product offering on the market. TR4570 is the first true resin available for near edge printers. It offers higher print density and gloss with superior durability to anything on the market. TR4570 can also print 10 ips on some substrates.

 TR5500 was specifically developed for coated and uncoated paper and tags for near-edge printers. It prints dark images at high speeds up to 12 inches per second at low energy settings with complete image integrity. TR5500’s backcoating reduces static and prolongs printhead life.
